IMMEM XIII: Late-breaker abstracts and LMIC grants

Late-breaker abstract submission is now open for IMMEM XIII until 10 June 2022. You can find the details and guidelines for abstract submission on the ESCMID website

ESCMID is also pleased to announce a new LMIC Travel Grant for IMMEM XIII. ESCMID will give 3 grants to ESCMID members residing in an LMIC with an accepted abstract. Apply now until 10 June!

 

 

ESCMID/ECDC Observership call opens June 2nd

Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for this great five-day programme at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna, Sweden. Application is open for Young Scientist ESCMID members and Full members 45 years old or younger. 

ESCMID/ASM abstract submission opens next week

The ESCMID/ASM Conference on Drug Development will open abstract submission next week from 6 June until 27 June. Abstract submitters can also apply for attendance grants during this time as well. See the programme and learn more on the ESCMID website.

ESCMID Guidelines course: registration closing

Registration for the ESCMID course on developing guidelines closes this week on 5 June.

The course taking place 15-17 September in Bologna, Italy is free of charge, but asks participants to send in a motivation letter to attend. See the programme and register today.

EMA endorsed statement on COVID-19 vaccines

The EMA has endorsed a joint statement by the ICMRA and the WHO to help healthcare professionals answer questions about the role of regulators in the oversight of COVID-19 vaccines and to reassure medical staff about the safety of vaccines that undergo a robust scientific evaluation.

ESCMID/IDSA webinar on Monkeypox on demand

We were pleased to host a late-breaking joint web symposium with IDSA covering the recent outbreak in Monkeypox in the EU and US with over 4,000 attendees! The recording is available for free on demand in the ESCMID eAcademy for those that could not attend live.

PK/PD modelling for apramycin against lung pathogens

New drugs and methods to fight carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative pathogens are needed. This study characterized the preclinical PK/PD of the clinical-stage drug candidate apramycin. It shows modelling is a useful tool for inclusion of multiple data sources and simulation of expected scenarios.
