Call for new ESCMID Guidelines projects closing!

The ESCMID Guidelines Subcommittee invites ESCMID members and ESCMID Study Groups to submit proposals for clinical practice guidelines projects within the selected topics. 

You can see the topics for projects, and the full call document on the ESCMID website. The deadline to submit projects is 3 July 2022!

 

 

Call for ECDC/ESCMID Observership closing soon!

This great 5-day program will get you acquainted with EU public health roles, responsibilities of ECDC, EU surveillance and epidemic intelligence systems. Application deadline is 30 June 2022, so don’t delay and miss this amazing opportunity!

Upcoming ESCMID Postgraduate Education Course!

The course, “Paediatric infection management for the microbiologist, infection specialist and antimicrobial pharmacist” takes place in Veyrier-du-Lac, France, 5 – 6 September 2022. Registration is now open, until 4 August 2022. Details on the programme can be found here.

ECCMID 2022 CME/CPD certificates

The deadline for obtaining your CME certificate for ECCMID 2022 is approaching. It is necessary to complete the congress evaluation before 9 July 2022 to receive the CME certificate.

The evaluation is available online via the ECCMID website. Please note, you can only claim CME points once.

ECOFF and AST in invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella

Azithromycin is an alternative to treat invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella (iNTS) infections. The authors determined its epidemiological cut-off (ECOFF) of 16mg/l and compared susceptibility testing methods. Disk diffusion was found to be an accurate, user-friendly alternative for dilution methods.
