Our ECCMID programme committee has worked hard last week to sort through and create an incredible scientific programme for ECCMID 2024. We can't wait to see the results next year in Barcelona!

Application for SG research grants

Last 24 hours to apply for the ECDC ESCMID observership

The call for the ECDC observership will close tomorrow 28 June 2023 at 12:00 pm (noon) CEST. The observership period is set for 16-20 October 2023. A group of 20 observers are offered a 5-day programme at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna, Stockholm County, Sweden.

Calls for ESCMID awards will open on
15 August 2023

ESCMID awards acknowledge excellence and outstanding innovation by researchers, clinicians and other persons contributing to the progression of the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. These awardees are invited to give lectures at ECCMID and are eligible to become ESCMID Fellows. Calls to apply will be open 15 August - 25 October 2023.

Updated criteria for ESCMID Young Scientist Membership

This membership is now open to all individuals still in training or completing their training, regardless of age (PhD with no longer than eight years post-graduation - MD or MD/PhD with no longer than five years from completion of clinical training/specialty). For a reduced rate, this special membership allows further opportunities, in addition to the benefits of a Full Membership.

Update on ESCMID bylaws

Please find the updated ESCMID bylaws on the ESCMID website. Among other changes, an update has been made to the eligibility of members to be nominated for the election of new Executive Committee members.

Open call for editorial interns at Clinical Microbiology and Infection

Our journal Clinical Microbiology and Infection is looking for early career researchers and clinician-researchers to join our team as editorial interns. We are looking for clinicians in the last year of their residency or fellowship, or during the four years following completion of the residency or fellowship; for PhD students in the same time-frames; and for post-doctoral fellows.
