ECCMID 2022 – Abstract submission is open!

Abstract submission for ECCMID 2022 is now open! Visit the ECCMID website to view the guidelines and to submit your abstract for inclusion in the world’s premier congress in the field of infection. Travel grants for young scientists can also be applied for during the abstract submission process.
 

Deadline for abstract submission: 24 November 2021 at 23:59 CET

 

 

Call to join the ESCMID Guidelines Subcommittee

ESCMID is selecting new members of the Guidelines Subcommittee. ESCMID members interested in joining the subcommittee can find the full call document here. The deadline to apply is 1 November 2021.

Public Consultation Phase open for new ESCMID Guidelines

“ESCMID rapid guidelines for assessment and management of long COVID” is undergoing public consultation. Check here to participate. The deadline to provide feedback and comments is 8 November 2021.

Call to select a methodologist in medical guidelines development

ESCMID is currently seeking applications for an experienced methodologist for medical guidelines development. This position will be supporting the drafting groups of ESCMID guidelines in various aspects. Interested persons can learn more and apply by 15 November on the ESCMID website.

ESPID 2022 will be a special 40th Anniversary Meeting, and besides hearing the latest paediatric infectious diseases developments, attendees can benefit from many ways to take an active role. Abstract submission and award applications deadlines are 11 January 2022.

SARS-CoV-2 variant poorly detected by RT-PCR on nasopharyngeal samples, with high lethality

An outbreak of nosocomial cases of COVID-19 emerged with RT-PCR tests repeatedly negative on nasopharyngeal samples but positive on lower respiratory tract samples. WGS revealed a new variant, B.1.616. This study analyses the characteristics and outcomes of related cases, high lethality was found.
