ESCMID is pleased to announce an open call for new members for the Education Subcommittee. This committee advises and provides guidance to the society, developing the medical education programme.

At the end of 2021, elections will be held among the membership to fill three (out of eight) positions in the ESCMID Executive Committee, one representing clinical microbiology and two for infectious diseases.

IDWeek Presents: 24 Hours of COVID -19 - Chasing the Sun

ESCMID is very proud to participate in the IDWeek event Chasing the Sun: COVID-19, Beyond the Horizon. This global event will begin on Wednesday, September 29 and conclude on Thursday, Sept. 30 2021.
The event is available free of charge with the generous financial support from the CDC and the IDSA Foundation.

Indeterminate HIV PCR results within South Africa’s early infant diagnosis programme

This study explores trends within SA’s EID programme and variables associated with HIV-positive and negative status on follow-up testing among patients with an indeterminate HIV PCR result. The authors' results suggest a considerable burden of missed diagnostic opportunities.
