On 1st July 2021, GARDP will be launching a new series of webinars: AMR Discussions. In the first of these, we will be addressing the question of how to balance equitable access to antibiotics with the lack of stewardship of these life-saving drugs in LMICs. Philip Howard will moderate this webinar in which Direk Limmathurotsakul, Souha S. Kanj and Sujith J. Chandy will discuss this topic.

The webinar will run from 10:00-11:00 CEST on 1 July 2021.

Knowledge of the microbiologic etiology of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is essential to its management. Contemporary literature from the United States on this topic is lacking. This study aimed to identify the most common microorganisms associated with types of arthroplasty, the timing of infection, and clues to polymicrobial infection.
A total of 2,067 episodes of PJI in 1,651 patients were included in this cross-sectional study.
