Call to select a methodologist in medical guidelines development

ESCMID is currently seeking applications for an experienced methodologist for medical guidelines development. This position will be supporting the drafting groups of ESCMID guidelines in various aspects. Interested persons can learn more and apply by 15 November on the ESCMID website.

Call for NEW ESCMID Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate 2022 – 2024 course proposals!

The European Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate Programme is a newly-planned educational programme in the field of AMS. European healthcare institutions interested in hosting course modules can find the relevant proposal information here.

Submission deadline: 13 December 2021 at 23:59 CET

Diagnostic accuracy of POC tests in acute community-acquired respiratory infections

The study showed that physical examination and host biomarkers are not sufficiently reliable as stand-alone tests, lung ultrasound shows higher accuracy than Chest-X ray, rapid antigen-based diagnostic tests cannot be considered fully reliable and overall, and molecular tests were the most accurate.
