ECCMID 2022 – Abstract submission closes next week!

Abstract submission for ECCMID 2022 closes next week! Visit the ECCMID website to view the guidelines and to submit your abstract for inclusion in the world’s premier congress in the field of infection.

Deadline for abstract submission: 24 November 2021 at 15:59 CET.

 

 

ESCMID Executive Committee elections – Opening soon!

The 2021 online election for the ESCMID Executive Committee will open on Thursday, 18 November 2021 at 12:00 noon CET and closes on Monday, 13 December 2021 at 12:00 noon CET. Be sure that your membership is up to date to have your say in the society’s leadership.

ECCMID Programme Book Grants – Submissions now open!

Submissions are now open for the 2022 ECCMID Programme Book Grants, an initiative that uses funds from the sale of printed programme books to fund the ECCMID attendance of participants that would otherwise not be able to attend. Find out more on the ECCMID Grants Website.

Registration now open: ASM/ESCMID online conference

The ASM/ESCMID Joint Conference on Drug Development is taking place online from 8-9 December, 2021. View the scientific programme and register, the event is free for all attendees. The 2022 Conference will be hosted by ESCMID in Dublin, Ireland from 4-7 October.

ESCMID Online Education Course: Registration closing soon!

Don’t miss your chance to register for the final ESCMID online postgraduate education course of 2021, ‘Invasive fungal infections in critically ill patients’, taking place from 22-23 November 2021. Find out more and register on the ESCMID website by 17 November 2021.

Webinar: WHO EML Antibiotic Book Launch

The WHO has developed an Essential Medicines List antibiotic book, with guidance regarding the treatment of over 30 infectious syndromes. A webinar to launch the public consultation phase will take place on 18 November 2021, from 13:00-14:00 CET. This event is free of charge.

AMR Discussions webinar for World Antimicrobial Awareness Week

“ESCMID COVID-19 Guidelines: Diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2” is undergoing public consultation. Check here to participate. The deadline to provide feedback and comments is 27 November 2021.

Timing of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination during pregnancy and transplacental antibody transfer

Assessing the impact of early versus late third-trimester maternal SARS-CoV-2 vaccination on transplacental transfer and neonatal levels of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. The authors' findings highlight that vaccination of pregnant women early in the third trimester may enhance neonatal seroprotection.
