ESCMID Study Group Research Funding

The call for Study Group Research Grants for 2022 is open!

ESCMID Study Groups are invited to submit their research proposals in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases until 19 July 2022.

You can find all information needed to apply on the ESCMID website!
Study Group membership is free and open to all ESCMID members.

 

 

ESCMID Study Groups on YouTube

This week we continue to highlight out ASC/ENC participants on the ESCMID YouTube Channel. Over the next days we will be releasing introductory videos exploring a number of our Study Groups and their activities. Subscribe today to get notified of new videos when they are released.

ECCMID 2022 CME/CPD certificates

The deadline for obtaining your CME certificate for ECCMID 2022 is approaching. It is necessary to complete the congress evaluation before 9 July 2022 to receive the CME certificate. The evaluation is available online via the ECCMID website. Please note, you can only claim CME points once.

New attendance grants available

ESCMID is pleased to support attendance grants for the 22nd ICHS Symposium and the SSAI Annual Congress Combined Meeting taking place 8-11 September in Basel, Switzerland. ESCMID young scientist members can apply for attendance grants now until 1 August 2022 to assist in travel costs. 

ESCMID/ASM Abstracts and Grants

Abstract submission is now open for the ESCMID/ASM Conference on Drug Development coming up in Dublin, Ireland from 4-7 October 2022. ESCMID members with an accepted abstract are also eligible to receive an attendance grant to cover registration! The deadline to submit is 27 June. 

Individual Research Grants coming up

The call for individual ESCMID research grants for 2023 will officially open 21 June 2022 and remain open until 13 September. ESCMID research grants help young outstanding investigators pursue ground-breaking research, this year concerning Fungal/Viral/Parasitic Infections and Diseases.

Environmental stability among SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern

This study evaluated the environmental stability of the Wuhan strain of SARS-CoV-2 and all VOCs on plastic and human skin surfaces and their disinfection efficacy. The authors found that the VOCs have higher stability than the Wuhan strain, increasing their transmission risk and spread.
