International intracellular bacteria meeting 2022

Taking place 23-26 August in Lausanne, Switzerland, this meeting, supported by two ESCMID Study Groups ESGMD and ESGMAC, features a program on intracellular bacteria and associated infections. You can submit abstracts now until May 15th.

BCG vaccine to reduce HCW absenteeism in COVID-19 pandemic

This study investigated if the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine would reduce healthcare worker absenteeism as it provides non-specific protection against respiratory infections. The authors found that it did not reduce unplanned absenteeism nor documented COVID-19.
