Education Subcommittee updated

ESCMID Education Subcommittee has recently undergone significant changes regarding its structure and activities. ESCMID Education Subcommittee is now divided into two working groups: ESCMID eAcademy Working Group and ESCMID Courses Working Group, to better assess the needs of ESCMID Education. Central World Sepsis Day Event 2023

World Sepsis Day is taking place on 13 September. You can join the hybrid World Sepsis Day Event which will take place one day before on 12 September in Berlin, Germany and online. It is a free-of-charge hybrid event that will underline the urgent need for implementing the WHO's Sepsis Resolution's demands at the national and international levels. Beyond the scientific and medical exchange, an important goal is to sharpen awareness of the scale and challenges surrounding sepsis through dialogues among policymakers, health authorities, healthcare professionals, industry, and the public.

Collaboration Grant opening next week

The Study Group Collaboration Grant is back again this year to support larger-scale, innovative research projects in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases organised by at least 3 ESCMID Study Groups collaborating together. The call to apply will officially open on 15 August 2023 and the deadline to submit applications will be 12 October 2023, 17:00 CET.

Clinical Mentor in Ukraine

ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks Clinical Mentor in Ukraine. The Clinical Mentor will work closely with the Project Director, Regional Director, and Principal Investigator and other relevant ICAP and Columbia University staff to ensure that all technical matters related to implementation and reporting for the project are addressed. Nomination Phase for ESCMID EC elections closes this month

The Nomination Subcommittee would like to encourage ESCMID members to propose candidates for the Executive Committee elections that will be held at the end of 2023. The nomination phase closes on 31 August.

We need to fill two positions both representing clinical microbiology; hence you are invited to propose candidates taking into consideration their professional excellence, leadership abilities, communication skills and contributions to the activities of ESCMID.
