ESCMID “ASC week” on YouTube

Join us on the ESCMID YouTube Channel this week as we will be releasing new videos highlighting the ESCMID affiliated societies every day.

These short videos provide an overview of the goals and types of activities that they organise. Be sure to watch now the videos that were already posted and come back every day to see them all! 

 

 

ESCMID/ECDC Observership call is open

Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for this great programme (10-14 Oct 2022) at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna, Sweden.  Application is open for Young Scientist ESCMID members and Full members 45 years old or younger. Deadline to apply is 30 June!

New ESCMID courses available

New ESCMID onsite education courses coming up in September are available for registration! See them all and register now for courses like ‘Paediatric infection management for the microbiologist and antimicrobial pharmacist’ or ‘Measles in the 21st century: is eradication possible and how?’

ESCMID Guidelines projects open call

ESCMID invites members to submit proposals for guidelines projects until 3 July 2022.

This call is open to ESCMID study groups and individual ESCMID members. See the full text of the call for all the details on the application procedure. 

ESCMID survey on textbook used in CM/ID/IC

This survey will help ESCMID propose appropriate tools for improving initial and continuous education in clinical microbiology (CM), infectious diseases (ID) and infection control (IC). We encourage you to follow the link below to participate in the survey.

EMA guidance for new antibiotics development

As part of its efforts to support a global approach to the development of new antimicrobial medicines, EMA has published the final revised guideline on the evaluation of human medicines for the treatment of bacterial infections. This revised guideline is part of the EMA’s role in combating AMR.

Antibiotic management of UTI in the post-antibiotic era

As one of the most common indications for antimicrobial prescription in the community, the management of UTIs is both complicated by, and a driver of AMR. This review highlights key clinical decisions involved in diagnosis and treatment, focusing on clinical effectiveness and stewardship.
