Open call for Editor-in-Chief of new ESCMID Journal

ESCMID is launching a new Gold Open Access journal to expand its publishing portfolio next to the highly successful ESCMID journal - Clinical Microbiology and Infection. For this reason, we are currently looking for highly qualified candidates to apply to be Editor-in-Chief and shape the Editorial strategy of the new journal. Interested candidates can see the full call description and apply now until 28 February 2023.

Mayo Clinic Observership

New expanded Low- and Lower-Middle Income Country Membership

ESCMID has extended our Low-Income Country membership to now include Lower-Middle Income Countries as well beginning of January 2023. Over 80 countries are included, and membership costs are only 7€ per year. This membership type then also entitles for a reduced ECCMID early bird fee of only 49€!

Reduced LMIC registration fee for upcoming online course

We are offering a reduced fee of only 15 Euros for LMIC participants in the "Antimicrobial stewardship in low and middle-income countries" online course. It will cover: the context (Epidemiology of AMR and Antimicrobial prescription in LMICs); the implementation of AMS programs in LMICs; and the perspectives (research, innovations, and training programs).

ESCMID Career Grant: applications closing soon

The application period for the ESCMID CAREer grant 2023 is closing soon on January 15th! This year we expanded the grant to be able to support 3 grantees who need financial support to advance their scientific career whilst looking after their children or suffering from an unexpected situation that prevents them from working full-time. Online tickets available for upcoming EITaF course

Online tickets are now available for the upcoming ESCMID educational course "Update on current emerging infections" from 19-20 January 2023. This course is co-organised by our emerging infections task force and international affairs subcommittee and will give an in-depth update on current problems and control strategies for emerging infections such as SARS-CoV-2, mpox virus and vaccine derived poliovirus type 2.

Apply for the MAYO Clinic Observership

ESCMID recently opened the call for applications for the very popular Mayo Clinic Observership! Young Scientist Members are encouraged to apply now until January 30th, 2023 to secure this special funded observership. Learn more about the eligibility criteria and apply on our website.

Open call for panel members for the clinical practice guidelines

ESCMID is currently seeking candidates willing to serve on the development panels for our clinical practice guidelines projects. Panel members will help to develop three ESCMID guidelines projects focusing on vaccination, antimicrobial dosing and approach to antibiotic allergies. Deadline to apply is 31 January 2023.
