| | Elections of Study Group Executive Committees | | Elections results have been announced for the following Study Groups: EFWISG, ESGBOR, ESGCP, ESGIB, ESGIE, ESGMD and ESGS. Elections have closed for EFISG, EPASG, ESGCIP, ESGITM, ESGPHM, EVASG, ESGARS, and ESGCD; the respective Election Committees are currently reviewing the results of the vote. Elections are still open for ESGLI; a run-off ballot has been opened for ESGREV and ESGMYC. Special elections to replace a member of the executive committee have been opened for ESGAI: nominations are accepted until 8 June 2020. To participate in the election process, log in to my.escmid.org with your ESCMID credentials and click on the “Study Group Elections” icon. Only members with a valid ESCMID membership can take part in the election process; to be able to vote, please be sure to renew immediately your ESCMID membership, should it expire in the coming days. | ESCMID Parity Commission survey 2019/2020: participate now!The ESCMID Parity Commission was founded to review and improve the representation of minorities and gender as well as geographic balance in the fields of Clinical Microbiology (CM) and Infectious Diseases (ID). In 2011, ESCMID conducted an online survey on discrimination regarding gender, minorities and geographic areas among CM and ID specialists in their employment and roles within universities, hospitals and organizations in Europe.
Today the ESCMID Parity Commission is launching a new survey about the expectations of ESCMID members in the field of parity and equity, and about the hurdles and difficulties possibly encountered to participate in the activities of the society. We would like to invite any ESCMID members to participate in the survey by answering the online questionnaire (this takes 15 minutes).
The results of the survey will allow us to propose new initiatives to address your unmet needs.

| CMI highlight: Epidemiological changes in bloodstream infections in Andalucía (Spain) during the last decadeDuring the last decade, some changes in the epidemiology of invasive infections have been reported; in particular, a raise in the incidence of Blood-Stream Infections (BSI) has been reported. However, specific studies with patient-level data are scarce, while BSI remain a leading cause of morbimortality.
Tracking changes in the rate of BSI caused by different pathogens is important in terms of ensuring an appropriate response by healthcare services and improve their management and prevention.
This study describes and evaluates the epidemiologic changes in bloodstream infections (BSI) during the last decade in Andalucía, Spain in terms of incidence, patients’ demographic and baseline characteristics, type of acquisition, aetiology, source of infection, clinical presentation and 30-day mortality.
Data from two prospective cohorts collected using the same methodology and performed ten years apart in 11 hospitals from Andalusia, Spain were compared. From the results obtained, the authors conclude that relevant epidemiological changes in BSI in the screened area occurred, including rates, frequency of acquisition types, changes in patient’s profiles and in etiological agents.
