Last week saw Ecraid’s first educational collaboration with ESCMID take place in Utrecht. Over three days, the postgraduate workshop focused on how to improve clinical research in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology utilising better methods. Experts from Europe and beyond shared their knowledge and experience with 48 young investigators eager to conduct state-of-the-art clinical research in infectious diseases. C. diphtheriae and C. ulcerans have received breakpoints and a EUCAST methodology for disk diffusion has been developed and validated. The recommendations will be part of the next update of the EUCAST breakpoint table, however, on request they have pre-published this section. You can read it now on the ESCMID or EUCAST websites.
