First Pre-ECCMID Day – a resounding success!

Last Wednesday (23 February) saw the first of the 2022 Pre-ECCMID Days, focussing on new developments in the field of microbial diagnostics, as well as a special focus on new ESCMID COVID-19 Guidelines.

Attendance Grants available: Pre-ECCMID course on AMS

Time is running out to apply for an attendance grant for the Pre-ECCMID postgraduate course on Antimicrobial Stewardship, taking place in Carcavelos, Portugal from 21 – 22 April 2022.  

ESCMID members can apply for an attendance grant by March 5, 2022.

Online Education Course: COVID-19 and Liver Disease

Registration is now open for the ESCMID Online Education Course ‘COVID-19 and Liver Disease’, taking place on 1-3 June 2022.

Join an international faculty as they discuss the hepatic impacts of COVID-19 and the clinical management of patients with liver disease.

In Memoriam: John McConnell

ESCMID was saddened to learn of the passing of John McConnell, editor of The Lancet Infectious Diseases. He was a long-term collaborator with ESCMID and regularly featured as a member of faculty at ECCMID and other ESCMID conferences and events. Our thoughts are with his family and colleagues.

Rapid guidelines for assessment of management of long COVID

A new ESCMID guidelines has been published to provide evidence-based recommendations for assessment and management of individuals with persistent symptoms after acute COVID-19 infection, and provide a definition for this entity, termed “long COVID”. Read the full article now on CMI!
